I scrapped yesterday and I liked it!!!

OHHH it felt soooo good to get at my desk (after I cleaned it - man it was a mess) and get to some scrapping.
That is my DH! Man hes hot! He LOVES his couch and big ass tv. Here he sits on a lazy weekend enjoying every minuet of it. The sketch is from SLS 7th Sketch. Very simple, i dotted a border around the edge with my clearance MS markers, cut the title with my beloved Cricut (good ole George cart), crinkled up one of the bottom PPs and used another WAT clearance MS punch on the other! A few black brads at the top and some journaling strips. http://sassylilsketches.blogspot.com/2010/12/7th-sketch-reveal.html
The kids and grandbaby! This is Serenity's first Thanksgiving. I snagged this and the bottom pic off her my DILs FB! Used some older but fun and bright fall paper, stickled it like mad and stitched the bottom pp. As much as I wanted to use some of my overflowing embellies, I didn't think it needed it!

OHHH My sweet Granddaughter, in black n white, so classic. I did this for the LTGIF on Scrapfreak. "Talk is cheap" meaning no title. SOO easy for me. Sometimes I just cannot come up with a title and I love the simplicity of it. I did lift this LO from a scrapfreak, and well I cant remember who, so if it is yours THANKS!
Stitched around the edges and distressed it some, punched some black paper with the MS punch, added some funky ribbon Mom got me for my bday, a prima flower with a button, and finalllly used that cool black flower clear thingy from a SF kit. LOVE IT!

Well got lots to do today! All at my scrappy desk...well and mopping, UGH I loathe mopping!

Oh December!!

Holiday time!
Doesn't feel the same cause my DH deployed last week and wont be home for a few months. He got us a great tree before he left and we decorated and i have to say it is one of my favorite trees ever. Dh got his gifts before he left and I got mine. Pink mouse (the new wireless one), pink slippers (they are heaven for feet) and a new camera (woot). Work, surgery and DH leaving kicked my butt and most days I sit on the couch like a blob. I have gotten lots of TV time in though. This weekend was needed like no other. I slept in, cleaned house, did laundry, ran errands and SCRAPPED!!! (post to follow)
ScrapFreak is closing next month and well honestly, and not sure why, I was a little mad! I guess I don't always like change.

So I have found a few new homes
www.sassylitsketches.com
www.creativesoup.forumotion.com
and one I am not so new to,
www.divascreativas.ning.com
(I am an actual DT there WOOT!)

So yesterday between chores and laying on the couch I DID created some things thanks to my new "homes".

Missing my husband, wish we could email more, but proud as all heck to be his wife!!!

Hippity Hop Blog Hop

NOW this was FUN!! It starts at Sassy Lil' sketches http://sassylilsketches.blogspot.com/2010/11/hippity-hop-blog-hop.html
and goes to 4 more blogs where you grab an "ingredient" for a awesome little LO; Scrap Fit, Crop Suey, Scrap Tiffany and The Cuttlebug Spot.
Here is mine and while it is wayyy busier than I normally do, I like it.
I used a banner at the top with the title on them, Bake Sale, I have 3 cupcakes I hand cut out and inked, a piece of dark green lace at the bottom of the photos and a piece of pp covered chipboard with the date for the texture. My picture of layout is terrible thanks to the sun already going down. I had a great time and thank everyone for the challenge.

A good week!!

I finally started a job. Hadn't worked in a year and it was driving me nuts. I hated not having extra spending money just to buy things, I didn't go without but there are things a girl just wants! And i was bored. My house was spotless and I never created so much in my life, but there were days I just felt...well worthless.
NOT anymore. I enjoyed my first week and while I know NO job is always great, I hope I can deal with the bad and remember it is a great job and I can deal with it. The people are great and its a paycheck, a good one and I have room to succeed.
Now, I am exhausted haha, really around 6 I am pooped. To think about cleaning at all M-F just doesn't happen so I spend hours on Sunday doing it and not sure I want to spend every Sunday dusting, sweeping, and mopping. I think about hiring a cleaning person but it is hard to justify it. Maybe, one day, we'll see.

Sassy Lil Sketches - last 2 cards!!!

I got scrappy today!!! I loved Sassy Lil Sketches month long card sketch challenges. I did them all. Helped to remind me that Cherie posted a TGIF crop challenge over on the freak to get them done! I LOVE this blue card lots. Used my cricut Cuttin Up cart for the alphas and blue crochet trim from the Freak kit.

http://sassylilsketches.blogspot.com/2010/10/card-crazy-sketch-4.html
This card was inspired by the colors in the pp. I found that two of the pins wheels in this months Freak kit matched very well so I trimmed them down added a dot of stickles to them and I think the card turned out super.

Retro scrapping

1978 - I think in Bell, CA. Not sure about that kitten, I don't remember one.
These two double layouts are of photos a neighbor in Bell took of me. I did these four LOs and then did a frame framed LO and altered it for my Mom. She loved it.

Easter at Grammas in Downey, 1977 I think or 78.

Grammas house again, that gate is the neighbors, what a great guy he was, Mr. Don. Late 70s.

These are of me as a kiddo. Late 70s. Did most of them for challenges on a few of my favorite site.

Only 5 more days till I start my job. I cannot wait. I got the final emails this week so it IS set in stone!!!

ScrapFit card sketch

Yet another site I LOVE to be challenged at. This is a Color Me Happy challenge to use lime green, purple, black and orange. Alecia did a wonderful sample and all the others are super too. I choose to do a card. Another card for the Children's Home here in my town.

Did this this morning and find it pretty darn cool!!!
Its mostly cardstock with the Orange being a pp from a halloween pack. Scrapfreak twine from a kit and some buttons. The Alphas are white vinyl thickers that I outlined in purple stickles then filled it in with black. Different, not sure i LOVE it but its cute.

I said LONG weekend of scrapping :)

I did more cards!! These are a fewdeploys next year as well as some for the hubby when he random ones for my collection. I used some Freak kit stuff, some Round Robin box stuff and did alot of stitching thanks to Jamie's inspiring cards!!!

Long weekend scrappy mojo

I had lots of Mojo this week. We did a round robin box on the freak and I got the box this Saturday. It was chalk full of things. I got some great ribbon, chipboard, diecuts, flowers and other goodies. This helped in my card making this weekend. Sassy Lil' Sketches card sketch for this week is this cute flower card (MME pp) with embellies from the freak kit.

Achieve - 2010

SOOO at the beginning of this year I made this. It hangs on the wall in my scrappy room. it has a little pocket with a card in it. It is numbered to 10. HOWEVER there were truly only THREE things i really wanted to ACHIEVE this year, BIG things.
1- New job
2- Lose weight
3-obtain my BA
Cross off 1 and 3! I got 1 in June (not looking forward to student loan payments next month) and I will start 3 on the 25th.
NOW there is #2. Sigh. I have tried, hard. I have failed, easily. I am still going to try though. I have just over 2 months and even to be LOSING it will be great.
I am keeping this WORD art on my wall for the next year. I would like to add 3 more BIG things to it for this year. It helps that i think so darn cute :)

Good things DO come to those who wait

and I waited for what seemed forever but I finally got the job offer and my tentative start date is the 25th and I cannot wait!
I cannot wait to start paying for My car, taking over some of the bills from the DH and having spending money for when I just want to spend it!

Along with this came two of the three things I really wanted to achieve this year, even hung it on my wall. I got my degree (in June) and now the job. Now my goal is to lose 30 pounds before the end of the year. It will be tough but I have got to do it.

So the next two weeks I plan to work on my baby album, since I will still have too much time on my hands for a few weeks!!!

Happy day to you too!!!

Saturday Scrapping

Probably one of the best layouts I have ever done. Sometimes I scrap and yea I think its CRAP. Most the time, I like it and once in awhile i LOVE it. The one of my son is actually framed and hanging in my scrap room. I LOVE this photo and was so glad I could do it justice.

I did a few others, all for either the Diva blog hop, see below, or challenges on Scrapfreak. I spent almost all day scrapping and enjoyed every minuet of it. Going to do the same thing today. I don't want to do too many of my prints as this week I am going to Lubbock for another back shot and plan on hitting the GIANT scrappy store there!! So might wait to see what goodies I can find first. Hmmmm debating now.

Happy 35th birthday to ME!

Yup, I'm 35 today! I don't feel 35, it's strange.

So yesterday my mom took me to lunch and gave me a bag of scrappy goodness.

Last night the DH brought me home 2, GIANT dark chocolate candy bars and the greatest card!!

Today I got a cute card and $20 from the aunt and uncle in cali.

While at Wal-mart this morning I scored on some Martha Stewart scrappyness!! Two border punches fore $3.50 each, 24 set of markers for $4.50, 8x8 pack of cardstock for $1.50 and a glitter stamp set for $5!! All of it for under the price of ONE of the regular priced items. I KNEW stalking the clearance over the last month would pay off!!!

Tonight is Ryans CAP meeting so we will hit taco bell on the way, I am SO ok with that. LOVE me some taco bell.

Next week I have to go to Lubbock for another (and the last) steriod shot for my neck. Mom is taking me and we have to stay the night. Going to spend birthday money from DH and auntie/uncle at the super big ass scrappy store there! OH I cannot wait. Oh and Olive Garden of course!!!

It rained all morning too, didn't bother me, we needed it. Smells clean outside now.

Been a good day. I am so grateful for all I have and the love of my friends and family!!!

OH - I spent all morning scrapping!!!

September - already?!

Happy September 1st!! I LOVE September, always have....why you ask? Well let's see....
1. Its my BIRTHDAY month!!!!!
2. Fall, I LOVE fall, I love fall clothes, the colors, the cool crisp air, earlier nights
OK so I really only have those two reasons but I think it is more than other months!!

This year my wonderful husband is giving me a GREAT gift, he doesn't even have to go out and shop for it!! (lucky!) He is paying for me to go to my first EVA scrap retreat over in TX! I cannot wait. I am so excited, nervous too because I will be around some of the most creative creators I know. I am looking so forward to it even if i feel mostly guilt UGH, yup guilty, but I will get over it.

I am HOPING that being the good person I am, patient (yea right) that good things will hurry up and come to me! Hoping that job I want posts this week. I NEEEEEED it, I have way too much time on my hands. A woman can only clean the house so much, watch so much court shows, play so many computer games and can only read the Freak a few hundred times a day!!
COME ON!

I am out of prints to scrap, haven't done anything to take pictures of!!! BUT I found a few old ones of the mutt I haven't scrapped as well as I took wayy too many pics of Tucker after his bath tonight that I must scrap, BUTTT saving those for the retreat!!!

So, its September, lets all hope, pray, do whatever it is you do that i get a job, I survive turning 35, lose some weight and find more productive things to do with my time!!

Good things come to those who wait!

Right?
So I posted down there, about it being a good day and one of the things was the job that i WANT/NEED opened. Well it did, and it closed and 10 days later I found out something went wrong AGAIN and now I am sitting here, again, waiting for it to open. Wait for it to close, pray it works this time. SOOO, I will be unemployed for this whole month and maybe part of next. Oh that sucks. It is sooo hard to stay positive and I want to freak out and break down and kick and scream. And well I did kinda do that last week. Then I "WO-maned up" and decided NO - I wont do this to myself or my family.

I WILL be thankful for all the things I DO have.
A wonderful husband who provides more for me and my son then I ever thought we would ever get in life. A awesome son who, even though can be a little smart mouth (he IS 13 ya know!) is caring and giving and smart and hardworking. Even the pets, while they suck alot of my energy, they are giving too and I am thankful we have them in our lives. My mom lives 30 mins away and I love that. She is my best friend and I am so glad she lives so close and always will. There are many other things too like my love for scrapping and creating and having "places" to go to for that and have others around who make me laugh or think and truly inspire me (yes, that would be the Scrapfreak - and one of these days I will figure out how to add a button to them on this blog.

I am back on the weight loss wagon again and once again wanting this badly. 10 by 35, I am calling it. That's 10 pounds (i got 31.8 to lose) by my 35th bday, September 23rd. Two days in and while the scale isn't moving, I AM eating better and sneaking in workouts. I WILL succeed at some point. I truly believe I HAVE to be a positive person for the weight loss to work. SO that's that.

So right now I am enjoying a new thing I have learned about, blog hopping! However, it gave me BAD blog envy and I really want to make this blog, mine, better, prettier, cooler so going to work on that this week.

Until next time friends *in my best newscaster voice* - stay positive, and remember, Good things come to those who wait!!!

July Freak out prize

Oh HAPPY MAIL DAY!!!!

I worked my tail off last month for the project of the month on Scrapfreak. I got well over 1000 pts and won first prize. Kim wouldn't tell me what I was winning, so I had to wait. Oh good things come to those who wait!!!

There are LARGE thickers which I love, I do have the small ones. Confetti accessory sheet on family/love and a journal card. And a title that is clear. A metal frame. The prettiest blue lace. Cheeky jigsaw shapes, flowers and buttons, stick pins, 2 packages of bling, a HOME bingo card, a small vinyl house thingy, a family sheet of cardstock stickers, a maya road house mini and my fav thing of all - - - - stamps!! A butter fly, flower and paisley(I think that is the name of it).
Seriously how can I ever express my thankfulness. It is all so rich!

I am working on this months class, which has intimidated me for the last week but I woke up with an idea to create a mini about the last year in our home here in NM. These things are going to fit perfectly with my idea. I am so excited. I have done the cover and am working on the pages now.

I couldn't be more thankful for all the inspiration that the freak gives me. I would never do many of the things I do, whether it is good or bad, if it weren't for the amazing creators on the freak.

I LOVE great days!!

While my Dh is working 12s, which stinks, today was a great day. Even though I forgot to put water in the coffee maker last night so it wasn't ready when DH got up, it was still a great day!
I got an appt with the pediatrician for the boy for a physical for school for the time I wanted.
The job I want posted and I found out it closes earlier than normal, I COULD be working by the 16th. Cross them fingers and toes please.
I caught a short nap on the couch.
I picked up a key to the thrift store (very long story but I am the hero :) )
Hung out a few mins at DHs work with his crew.
Got a $50 check (unexpected) from the thrift store.
The boys appt went well, hes growing like a weed and is officially taller than me, by an inch.
ANDDDDDDD we hit "happy hour" at Sonic and got cherry limeades on the way home.
And even though I didn't get my kit from the freak, which made me very sad, I was the winner for the summer freakout with over 1000 points. I did soo much last month. I enjoyed every minuet of it esp since I hope to be working too hard soon to scrap every day like I get to now.
just a good day. I could surly stand more of these!!!

Its August!

These five layouts are from this month.
#1 I LOVE our home and the flag we proudly fly!!
#2 R is for relaxing in front of one of our camp fires last month.
#3 Our first night in the RV, the Cannon Escape!!!
#4 CAP - Ryan in a group pic with the Cannon, Amarillo and Lubbock squadrons.

Oh what a bad blogger I am. Half a month with no post. Shame on me. But I AM still "new" at this. Anyways the end of July was fun. We bought an RV! I cannot believe we did that and its huge. We better have it forever. Its truly is a home on wheels. We took 5 days and went north in it staying a few days in Red River where the guys fished alot (caught little), we saw lots of ducks and a herd of deer and enjoyed the outdoors. Then we headed to the more rugged part of the mountains and dry camped one night. Had a great fire and ate smores. Hope to get more weekend trips in before the bad weather sets in. Ryan had a fab time with CAP at the base outing that Rob and I both got to go on with him. He is loving CAP (civil air patrol). He has already taken his first written test and PT test and passed both with flying colors. He will have his first rank anytime along with his first ribbon for volunteering at the thrift store this summer.
Still havent found a job and that leaves lots of time to scrap. The freak had a month long scrap-a-thon and I scrapped my bootie off. I did 34 layouts and 51 cards in July. Most of the cards are for Operation Write house and I got a jump on Christmas cards which I plan to work on this week as well. I am HOPING to have a job soon and will be too busy to spend endless hours scrapping and card making so wanted to get ahead.

Ryan starts school in 2 weeks. This summer has flown. He will be an 8th grader. OH MY! We go the 16th to find out his schedule. I feel so old. He is taller than me now too which doesn't help. The thought that in 5 1/2 or so years, he wont always be around. I am not sure I want him to grow up!!!!

So I hope to blog more this month. I DO find it therapeutic and if my antics make others smile or even laugh AT me, I am OK with that :)

**I do want to post my brilliant wittiness of last month**

Our cat, well Ryan's cat, Gypsy, is an INdoor cat. No claws. But she aches to be outside with all the bugs. She will try to get out the back door as we come in and has on a few occasions before being scooped up and put back in.
One night I came in and there she sat, ready to pounce out. I told her "Girl you are an indoor cat, why do you think you need to go out there?"
From his bedroom, Ryan comments "She WAS born outside" (a stray that followed us home) and i replied with "well you were born in a hospital and you don't live THERE!"
while it might sound as funny and witty as I think it does, we all got a laugh!!

*C*
