Cards cards cards

I had mojo. I had a container full of Holiday stuff; patterned paper from the last few years, ribbon, chipboard, stickers, rub ons, stamps, you name it!! We don't usually do a whole lot at the holiday time to scrap, so if I don't make cards, I will have this container of holiday stuff FORever!

So I had a bright idea!
My Gramma in CA always gives money in cards for Christmas. She has for years.
So I thought, "I'll MAKE the cards for HER to give away! She will love them!"
Texted the idea to my favorite Aunt in the world, Suzy, and she said "OH yea she will love it"

So these are a few I did. I also added about 4 or 5 that were given to me from the Troops for the Cards as a thank you for volunteering to the ones I made. I have to mail these today!!!

this one was a quickie for me cause i actually made the front a few years ago for the 25 days of Christmas which i never completed *blush*
So i took that card apart and put it on the front of a regular card, tore off the # tag,  added the sentiment and some stickles on the stars! CUTE!

I am sure I found one like this on Pinterest - its hard to see on the picture but the tree is cut. I liked the way it looked and i love the bold colors.

This one I lifted from the Cards for Troops set. I liked how the blocks are supposed to look like a tree. its very simple! the star is foil from a piece of candy that i punched! LOOK i repurposed haha.

another one i lifted from online, not sure where. The tree and sentiment is a sticker i put on card stock and cut out.

another one i KNOW i lifted off Pinterest. its VERY busy but i think its kinda elegant too.

this one i made last year or the year before and never sent to anyone. its HEAVY so it is better to be "handed". So i thought Gramma would really appreciate the vintage look of it, esp with the yarn.

simple! my fav style!

another one i lifted from on line. I used a more muted dark green on this one. and i love the button ornaments!

this one i didn't lift! crazy right? :)
i love punching a hole in the cards to add the ribbon, it makes the inside more fun i think. used lots of scraps and the stars and sentiment are chipboard!

sooo simple! but i hand cut those trees out of PP and layered them!

gimme scrapps and i will make squares! love squares! a sticker sentiment and a chipboard tree! add a ribbon (which i am not out of :( ) and tad a cute and busy!

DCWV stack challenge

I did the September challenge on DCWVs blog.
I used the Spring Fling and Summer Days papers! I love these papers because they are veryyyy sweet and very girlie and scrapping my granddaughter is SOOO easy with these!!! These are 2 more portraits
by Stew

this is the awesome sketch

and here is the layout I did while at a wonderful crop my wonderful husband paid for for my birthday this week.
I had a hard time with the title. I finally came up with Seriously Sweet cause she's so serious in the fist photo and sweet, tapping her fingers in the 2nd. I hand stitched a lot, which is one of my have things to do. I LOVE using stick pins too!!!

Sketch n Scrap Layout 17

I did this layout for Sketch N Scrap

This is the wonderful sketch - that I LOVE because it really showcases ONE great photo. The photo I choose was one of me and my wonderful DH in March. This is a professional photo done by

Challenge fun at Creative Scrappers

Here I go - again! I love to do challenges on this site!!! This months' sketches are
AMAZZING!!!!

here is sketch 225 I did

Here is my layout. Yes, it is simple because it is for my husbands retirement album and well he's SOOOO not girlie (hehe) and Im trying to keep it fun but "professional".
I flipped the layout so my 2 photos would make sense on it.
I hand stitched the circle and stars on the left corner and the title is rub ons.
The picture is my wonderful husband, myself received a letter from the President for being a military spouse and a great friend, Retired Chief Ted Millard.

ScrapMuch? Double LO sketch

AGAIN.....I get to scrap my granddaughter! and to scrap her with her Papa O is even more fun! and YUP I got to use PINK again, with some blue for Papa O!
These pics are random shots at the airport as we waited for their plane. I thought they were just too cute! I was so happy to find a sketch I could use them on all together and a double was perfect.
This sketch is from SCRAPMUCH?

I used a few more pictures but did do the banner, which is a stretch for me.
I used lots of bling and pretty-ness.
I used the blue felt ribbon (MME) that I received this week as a prize from last months challenge on ScrapMuch? and stickers from the Grandparents page from 7Gypsies.

Scrap It Girl! Recipe challenge

Scrap It Girl offers amazing challenges!
This is for this months recipe challenge and I dove right in.

September’s Recipe Challenge
Ingredients Needed:
  • Twine
  • Arrows
  • Circle
  • Bird
  • Red
I got red and white twine as borders on the red pp, and white in the buttons, i used a BIG arrow, the circles are the buttons, the title chipboard and i stickled a few too. The birds was harder for me as its not something I use much, but i found a cute bird and cloud rub on in my stash that was perfect! and the red, well you can see where I used that! I love the simplicity of my LO and my journaling is done in all alphas, one of my fav things to do!!
I used another awesome photo from

of myself, my boy and my Aunt Suzy! She is MY aunt which makes her Ryans GREAT aunt that she IS just that - GREAT, Fantastic, Awesome, Respected, Loved! She has always had a HUGE influence on me, I spent the hardest part of my "childhood" with her. She taught me so much, taught me what not to do, how to keep a house clean, be a great mom and she is the most compassionate, sweetest, funniest, most caring woman I know. She is a SAINT if you ask me!!

Piece of Scrap SKETCH-TEMBER 9th sketch - Grandpa

I LOVE doing layouts of Serenity! A - she's stinkin the cutest thing ever B-I can use PINK!!! and to do a layout of her and her Papa O is just the icing on the cupcake!!!

This is a professional photo done by the amazing Stewie B
taken in March of this year.

I LOVE this layout cause I finally overcame my fear (for now!) of paper like this. I adore it but MAN, it freaks me out. How do I do it justice? But i hope i did. POS is doing an awesome crop and this is for one of the sketches provided over there.

the sketch is from

Fall Colors!!!

LOVE EM! Esp after a LONG HOT summer!!!

One of my new favorite places to visit is SCRAPMUCH? - they are awesome. I love the inspiration they offer and what the other people who play come up with!

For September they are offering up THESE colors!!!

So I rummaged through my scraps and come up with this. Using a beautiful darker cream card stock I layered 3 patterned papers and one used to matt the pictures of a stormy sunset here in FL. Hand-stitched around the edges and inked around the journal spot. added a few buttons and darkened a corner. Its super fall and I enjoyed it - I have it hanging in my scrappy room - too pretty to put into a book just yet! Maybe in December ;)

Sometimes...I just love it

what I create...thats what I "sometimes" love. Sometimes I don't. Take the card I made yesterday. Oh in my head, it was uber cute. The finished product, not so much. As Kerri would say, it sat in timeout for a few hours. But then I finally realized that making a mistake is totally OK and I would trash it.

So this morning I noticed I have not used my Bo Bunny recently. This line I have is different for me, its "dark", its "romantic", its "strong". Three things I am not use to doing. But I LOVE it. So I checked out Bo Bunnys Blog to see what they had going on to give me some mojo. And I found this!!

                     http://bobunny.blogspot.com/2012/09/card-challenge-and-last-months-winner.html

Good Morning Friends!!!
Welcome to our new card challenge for the month of September.
This months challenge is a card sketch designed by Juliana
and goes something like this

⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩

I like it lots. I like the rounded corners, the circle, the art that reminds me of bling.
So I made a mess on my desk and came up with a card that I have to say....
I LOVE!!! Its beautiful!!

I used Bo Bunny Cambridge - Post is the double sided paper I used. and then 2 chip boards, stacked.
There are a few more things on there too, some Savoir Faire bling, The Ribbon Boutique maroon and black ribbon, Three Bugs In a Rug card stock sticker sentiment and inked the sides.
I DO find this card to be "dark, romantic and strong" - and I hope you agree!

Weekend Scrapping

What does one do while waiting on a storm....SCRAP! DUH!!! :)

These two layouts below (well 3 to be honest) are for 2 sketches on SCRAPMUCH.
I LOVE the inspiration they provide. The double...took me ALL day Sunday. The paper I LOVE and have hoarded it till yesterday. But it intimidates me!! But I pushed though and think I came up with a lovely couple of layouts.

Here is the first one I did - Sketch 1 for August -

And here is my interpolation - this are of our lovely granddaughter Serenity in March.

here they are separated - Bo Bunny, lots of little flowers, stickles, hand stitching, buttons and brads! LOTS of PINK!!

BUTTTTTT, I did another one - cause the rules say....if you are going to play at Scrapmuch...you have to do 2. Im on my 3rd (hehe) like I said, lots of inspiration! Anywhooooo, here is the sketch #3 for August.

AND here is mine! Its my boy Ryan and my favorite Aunt, Suzy! She came all the way from Cali with her best friend (who HATES to fly) to also be at my husbands retirement. I LOVE this pic. I kept the LO rather simple, still using some Bo Bunny, hand stitching, a bit of white ink doodling and some brads.

Still at home, dreary out, Isaac has gone west, spared us, but we still have lots of rain and wind and tornado warnings...sigh! So while the boy sleeps in due to school being cancelled and DH does his own online school work since he called out for today....here is sit! Oh scrappy heaven!!

A color challenge!!!

And I love it! The colors are not something I would normally gravitate to, so it was fun to be challenged! Thanks to Scrapmuch - http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2012/08/august-colour-challenge.html
I produced what I THINK is a beautiful layout of my beautiful cousin and her now husband during an engagement photo shoot!!!

So these are the colors and I used ALL of them!!! I didn't plan it that way at first, but once it started coming together....I think it turned out awesome. Some flowers, some bling, and some chipboard and ink!!

Here is my take on it -I used a photo of when my son when to DC on a youth group trip this summer. I used red whites and blues and hand stitched the lines. I used stickles as well to add some fun!!

Scrappy room (finally)

So we have a 4 bedroom house we are leasing here in Fl. In reality, it sa 3 bedroom with an office, even though someone at some point added a closet to it to make it a legal bedroom. But it is SMALL! So thats Robs office and he loves it. Its perfect for him and since I hung all his military stuff and put things on shelves, making it his "I love ME" room, its pretty darn great. Sadly niether of us have a real desk because they were BOTH dmanged in the move and we are waiting to be reimbursed to get new ones. So he uses the table out of our RV and i use a fold up table. ANYWAYS....with my mom living with us for a bit, she had the spare room and I set up my scrappy area in the formal living room (which i think is such a waste of house space unless you have a piano!).

Well she moved on and the rom was open and within 5 hours, it was ALLLL mine finally!!

MY OWN SCRAPPY SPACE!

that can easily we moved around bit for guests, when and if anyone ever comes to visit!

here are the first day pictures. Now I still have stuff to do, like hang up some stuff on the walls and add this cool wire with clips to display some of my fav layouts.

its lovely!

4 Xtra Hours

In March when Rob retired we were lucky enough to have the kids come out from TN. It was Jackie's and Serenity's first time on a plane! Poor things had the worse luck with missing their connection and having to wait it out in an airport but they finally got to us and we had a wonderful SHORT weekend with them. They are WONDERFUL parents and she's an awesome kiddo!
On Sunday we had to take them back to the airport in TX, a 2 hour drive. We got there in plenty of time but the lady behind the airlines counter messed things up, not giving Cody a boarding pass and well...they missed THAT flight too! Now they had a 4 hour layover with us in TX!
REALLY? COOL - 4 XTRA HOURS!!!
So we went and had lunch and walked around the mall, bought some coffee, shirts, just spent the time together - we were so thankful for those 4 extra hours!!! I took this pic of them and then scrapped in on a layout that I LOVE!!! yup - its PINK which i love but I also love the page map sketch I used - really dig the paper criss cross pattern I did on the side! And those alphas - make my heart skip a beat! they are sooo cool!!!

I did this LO for the August challenge at SCRAP IT GIRL - Numbers Challenge http://www.scrapitgirl.net/index.php/2012/08/01/august-challenge-july-winner/

I was lucky enough to have won a prize for a crop at Piece of Scrap *my scrappy online home* http://pieceofscrap.org/forum/index.php early this year and used this wonderful Doodlebug Design Inc paper pack "sweet cakes" and Bubblegum Doodle Twine on this LO, along with inked edges, Rockstar Metal alphas and a card stock sticker from Scenic Route Little princess.

PINK makes me happy, these 3 people make me happy, put them together and I am one happy Gramma!!!

August ALREADY!?

WOW - its already 10 days into August and I cannot believe it! August brings a few good things...school starts for those who need a break ;) and its my Gramma Necaises and our dog Tuckers birthday month. I will miss the boy when he's back in school and I wish I could be with my Gramma on her day!

The job hunt is still on going - UGH but when I have mojo I tend to watch tv, reallllly really bad reality tv and I scrap.

The last few days I have scrapped few pages.
This one is for Piece of Scraps circle challenge - my boy having sushi for the first time! Not sure if he liked it but he didn't gag. I tried it again for the 3rd or 4th time and still think, I would rather have it cooked!! It was his first time at a hibachi grill too where the cook the food in front of you. He liked that!
I used a circle to journal on and did a few free hand circles then stickled them! My fav thing about the page is the use of the alphas, not just in the title but in the journaling too!

Here is another one for the same challenge. This is my "other boy", Tucker the soon to be 3 year old Retriever! He fell into the pool! He was staring up at something in the tree and then decided to take off after it, forgetting there is HELLO a POOL! He fell in! I had to help him to the stairs...he was soooo scared!!!
The layout was very time consuming. I hand-stitched those circles with the lines. I tried to get it to be cohesive with the design on the pp. My favorite thing about this layout is that I finally used those little mushrooms I got from Sass YEARS ago!!

This one is for a challenge http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/ layout # 220. This is my boy and a group of kids on a youth group trip to DC in June. My favorite things about this layout are the colors and the big @ alpha, which is foam and I have been dying to use it! I think it worked perfect!!

So happy another week down and onto the weekend. No plans here except to enjoy relaxing, doing some more scrapping and watching all those Lifetime movies I have DVRed!

Embellie holder - my version

So I wanted something to hold all my embellies in a nice organized way. I asked around and was told the Clip It Up was the thing to have and ohhhhh how I drooled over it. I wanted it - bad! But then I looked at the price, the price of attachments and the time it takes to get shipped here and decided, there HAD to be a cheaper/faster way.
AND THERE IS!
I looked around on the web and found a great youtube video (theres a bunch on there for the same thing) and decided I could do that!! I also bought hinge clips along with the name tags clips they suggested. The hinge clips are sooo much easier, and of course used simple paper clips to hook onto the racks. I love it. Its perfect! I only used 2 of the 3 baskets so I could hang my long stuff too. This was less than $30 and no shipping!!!

And YES, it is sturdy!! One day I might spray paint it PINK!!!

New Times-Summer Time Rocks

Its been a LONG time since I have posted anything on my "blog". I am not good at this blog thing, but it seems to be the thing to do right? OK so I will join the bandwagon, looks safe enough :)

I need to keep track of things anyways, I AM an organizer! And - I think I "need" to have one to join all these wonderful different crafting challenges I want to be a part of to get inspiration, boost my mojo and who knows, maybe win some great prizes!

I posted about 18 months ago, oh how things have changed. Im on the east coast for the first time in my life, living in Tampa and trying to land a good job. I hadn't scrapped or created anything since the end of March. All my stuff was packed up and in storage for a few months and I went crazy waiting for it. Since getting all my stuff back and getting it organized to use, I have scrapped....oh let me go count...21 layouts, 5 cards, and 7 Smashbook pages! Its been 3 weeks, so I think Im doing good!
Here are a few of my fav creations this summer.

My boy - turned 15 this past May - his day was a FOOD day and he loved it!
My boy again, track meet in NM, love the way I used the PP.
One of my fav, simple LOs of the dog-kid Tucker. Sometimes really graphic PP, scares the begebees out of me!!
Gotta love a good Just Dance session. Here are our boys and some friends getting down while visiting for my husbands Air Force retirement in March!. I have a soft spot for squares and lives.
